Eligibility conditions
The objective of the Rotties Aust Relief Fund Committee is to provide emergency relief to Rottweiler owners in providing shelter, food , vet fees and associated requirements for the welfare of their dogs. This objective is further supported and clarified by a resolution of the Committee on 9 February 2009:
'The Relief Fund was established to provide assistance to persons who have suffered 'personal hardship and distress' immediately after a disaster. It was never the intention of the Relief Fund to place itself in the role of an insurer or to pick up the insurable gap. The intention of the Relief Fund is to provide some financial assistance on items deemed basic essentials to maintain a reasonable living standard for your Rottweiler after a disaster.'
The following are considered to be basic essentials to maintain a reasonable living standard subsequent to a disaster. This list is not exhaustive, but is indicative only:
- Boarding Kennel Fees / Shelter
- Veterinary Fees
- Food
- any other associated that may be considered from time to time
If an owner has a policy providing coverage in relation to loss incurred as a result of a natural disaster, the resident will not be eligible to apply for relief through the Fund.
Amount of relief
Each application for assistance shall be assessed on its own merits. A maximum amount in relation to each application for assistance will apply.
Assessment
Owners will be advised of the outcome of the claim after due consideration by the Committee. Should the application or part thereof be rejected, the reasons for rejection will be provided to the owner (s). Advice will be given to the owner(s) within 24 hours of their application.
